Biography: Son of David Stewart; born Aberdeen, 3 August 1862. M.A., 1882. Commissioned, 1st Volunteer Brigade (later 4th Battalion) Gordon Highlanders. (T.F.), 1884. Mobilized, 4 August 1914. Home service. Final rank, Honorary Colonel. V.D. Name brought to notice of Secretary of State for War, February 1917.
