Biography: Son of George Sorrie; born Abernethy, Inverness-shire, 27 March 1879. M.A., 1902; B.L., 1904. Private, 17th Highland Light Infantry, May 1915. Served with 3rd, 14th, 16th, Highland Light Infantry Home, 1915; France, Flanders, November 1915-March 1918; invalided. Final rank, Lance Corporal.
