Smith, Arthur Forbes
Biography: Son of John Smith; born Knockando, 11 July 1893. M.A., 1919. Private, 6th Gordon Highlanders, 1910. Re-enlisted, August 1914. Served-Home, 1914, 1915-16; France, Belgium, November 1914-October 1915, June 1916-February 1919 [Injured at Hulluch (Loos) September 1915]; Holland, Germany, February - November 1919 [Served as Staff Captain in Rotterdam in charge of the transport of supplies on the Rhine]. Final rank, Captain.
In Second World War worked at Ministry of Supply as Deputy Director General in charge of transport.
