Biography: Son of William Slater; born Lossiemouth, 14 November 1896. Arts, 1914-15; Science, 1919-. Private, 4th Gordon Highlanders, September 1915; attached to 5th Army Musketry School. Served-Home, 1915-16; France, June 1916-February 1919. Final rank, Acting Company-Sergeant-Major.
