Biography: Son of William Shortt; born Dhariwal, 15 April 1887. M.B.,1910. U Company, R.A.M.C. (V. and T.), 5 years. Commissioned, Indian Medical Service, 1910. Mobilized, August 1914. Served-Mesopotamia, 1914-. Final rank, Captain. Two mentions in despatches, 1915, 1919.
