Biography: Son of Alfred Sefton; born Aberdeen, 26 July 1887. M.A. (II Math.), 1911. Gunner, 58th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, November 1915. Exempted (at request of Education Department). Volunteer service, Morayshire, May 1916 - December 1917. Re-enlisted, 1 January 1918. Served-Home, 1918; France, April-December 1918. Final rank, Signaller.
