Biography: Son of John Wood; born Portsoy, 31 March 1894. M.A.,1920. War work-Mercantile Marine (Transport Service), 1915-16. Joined M.M.R., March 1916; transferred to Auxiliary Patrol and Mine Sweeping. Served-Orkney area, 19 months; English Channel, 15 months. Final rank, Seaman.
