Cambridge Univ. Officer Training Corps Commissioned, 3rd Gordon Highlanders, 6 August 1915. Attached to 2nd Gordon Highlanders; General Staff, War Office. Served-Aberdeen, 1915-16; France, July-September 1916. Wounded. War Office, 1917-18. Final rank, Acting Captain.
