Biography: Son of John F. White; born Aberdeen, 9 July 1877. M.B., 1901; D.T.M. (Liverpool); Fellow Society of Tropical Medicine. Commissioned, Indian Medical Service, 1904. Mobilized. Served-Suez Canal, France, Sinai and Palestine, 1914-18. Final rank, Acting Lieutenant-Colonel. Croix de Guerre, 1917. Order of the British Empire, 1919. Two mentions in despatches, June 1918, March 1919.
