Biography: Son of Hugh Welsh; born Aberdeen, 20 February 1883. Arts, 1903-06. Sergeant, 1st Banffshire Volunteer Regiment. (later, 4th Volunteer Battalion Gordon Highlanders). Home service, 1916-18.
