Biography: Son of the Right Honourable William Brace, M.P., Newport, Wales ; born Crumlin, Monmouthshire, 13 April 1892 ; educated Llandovery College ; with the intention of taking up agricultural work he studied at Aberdeen for the University Diploma in Agriculture from 1912-14. Brace had never enjoyed robust health. After the outbreak of war, being unfit for field service, he took up work under the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries and also worked for a time with Agricultural Tractors. At the beginning of 1917 he obtained a commission in the Royal Fusiliers, and in October 1918 became a Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant in the R.N.V.R. A few days afterwards he fell a victim to pneumonia from which he died 26 October 1918. His pleasant manner and kindly cheerful nature made him a favourite with all who knew him.
