Biography: Son of Thomas Waxliss; born Perth, Western Australia, 20 February 1864. Arts, 1881-83; B.A., LL.B. (with Hons.), Cantab. Called to the Bar at the Inner Temple, 1888. Officer Cadet, 6th Infantry Battalion, Australian Expeditionary Force. Served-Egypt, Dardanelles. Final rank, Lieutenant-Colonel (Scottish Regiment, Victoria). Companion of the order of St Michael and St George.
