Biography: Son of J. S. Loutit; born Foveran, Aberdeenshire, 20 November 1884. University Diploma in Agriculture, 1906. Commissioned, 5th Gordon Highlanders, 24 November 1914; attached to 12th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Served-Home, 1914-17 ; Salonika, February 1917-November 1918. Final rank, Captain. Military Cross, September 1918. Croix de Guerre avec Palmes.
