Ferrier, John Kinmont

Biography: Son of John Ferrier, Dalladies, Edzell ; born Fettercairn, 19 May 1896 ; educated Montrose Academy. Ferrier matriculated in October 1914, but after a winter session in the Agricultural Department, enlisted May 1915, as a Private in the 23rd (Sport-man's) Battalion, Royal Fusiliers. He proceeded to France in the autumn of the same year, was wounded in March 1916, and after a period at home obtained a commission in the 13th Rifle Brigade, October 1917. He was again wounded in January 1918 but returned to the front in June, and was killed in action on 23 August 1918 at Achiet-le-Grand.

Burial Details: Buried at Achiet - le - Grand Communal Cemetery Extension, Plot 3, Row A, Grave 17.
