Biography: Son of John B. Verel; born Glasgow, 30 November 1885. Medicine, 1912-13; M.B. (Ed.); F.R.C.S. (Ed.). Commissioned, R.A.M.C. (T.), August 1914; attached to 1st Scottish General Hospital; Scottish Horse Mounted Brigade; Field Ambulance, General Hospitals, Cairo. Served - Home, 1914-15; Gallipoli, 1915; Egypt, 1916-19. Final rank, Captain. O.B.E. (Mil.). Mentioned in despatches, March 1919. Died, 30 September 1920.
