Biography: Son of James Van Langenberg; born Kandy, 31 May 1870. M.B., 1895. Commissioned, Ceylon Light Infantry, 1898. Mobilized, August 1914. Served - Ceylon, August 1914-March 1916, September 1917-August 1918. Captain, R.A.M.C.; attached to Cambridge Hospital, Aldershot; German Prisoners of War camp, Frith Hill, July-September 1916. Final rank, Colonel. Colonial Auxiliary Force Officer's Decoration. Mentioned in despatches, 1918.
