Biography: Son of Robert Valentine; born Aberdeen, 15 June 1894. M.A. (I CIass), 1919. Private, 2/4th Gordon Highlanders, 29 September 1914; commissioned, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 6 May 1915. Seconded to Signal Service, Royal Engineers. Served - Home, 1914-17; E. Africa, March 1917-January 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant.
