Biography: Son of James Pirie; born Keith, 20 January 1899. Arts, 1916-17, 1919-. Private, 42nd Territorial Reserve Battalion, July 1917. Served with 9th, 4th, Seaforth Highlanders. Home, 1917-18; France, Germany, February 1918-August 1919. Final rank, Sergeant.
