Biography: Son of Alexander I. Pirie; born Kirkwall, 29 September 1880. M.A. (II Ment), 1902; B.D., 1907. War work-Y.M.C.A., France, 1916; British Red Cross Society, Aberdeen, 1918. Commissioned, R.A. Chaplains' Dept, 4th Class, 9 January 1917. Served-France, 12 months. Final rank, Captain. Honorary Chaplain to the Forces, for services rendered.
