Biography: Son of John Philip; born Aberdeen, 6 March 1894. Law, 1915-16. Private, 3rd Kings Own Scottish Borderers, February 1916. Served with Royal Scots; commissioned, January 1918. France, April-December 1916, January-September 1918; Home, 1916-18, 1918-19. Final rank, 2nd Lieutenant.
