Biography: Son of Alexander Paterson; born Enzie, 30 October 1888. M.A. (II Eng.), 1911. Gunner, 3/1st Highland Brigade Royal Field Artillery (Territorial), 25th June 1915; commissioned, B/170 Brigade Royal Field Artillery, 26 July 1916; attached to 5th Reserve Brigade. Served-Home, 1915-17, 1918-19; France, January-August 1917. Wounded, discharged, 1918. Final rank, Lieutenant.
