Biography: Son of James Dawson; born Aberdeen, 6 October 1874. M.A., 1896. Commissioned, 6th Gordon Highlanders, 1900. Mobilized, August 1914. Served - France, November 1914-March 1915, July 1915-May 1917. Discharged on account of wounds, November 1918. Final rank, Lieutenant-Colonel. D.S.O. Order of Danilo. T.D. Three mentions in despatches, 1915, 1916, 1917.
