Biography: Son of James Russell; born Walls, 6 October 1880. M.B., 1904; M.D., 1908; Fife Jamieson, Keith, Gold Medals; Anderson Scholar; McRobert Fellow. Commissioned, R.A.M.C., 4 December 1914. Served-Home, 14 months; Malta, February 1916-June 1918. Final rank, Acting Major.
