Biography: Son of John Ross; born Dingwall, 14 December 1891. M.A., 1912. War work-Munitions, Canada, 1915-16. Sub-Lieutenant Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve, 10 September 1916, Served with Portsmouth, Channel, Northern, Patrols; Gibraltar Convoy; Mine clearance. Final rank, Lieutenant.
