Biography: Son of George Rose; born Moneydie, Perthshire, 8 July 1872. M.A., 1891. Commissioned, 102nd Regiment, Rocky Mountain Rangers (Canadian Militia), 1913. Served with Canadian Forestry Corps. Served-Canada, 1914-17; England, Scotland, August 1917-September 1919. Final rank, Captain.
