Biography: Son of John Ritchie; born Shap, 4 April 1877. M.B., 1899. Lieutenant, Indian Medical Service, 1901. Mobilized Major, October 1914. Served-India, 1914; Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, Mesopotamia, December 1914-December 1919. Final rank, Acting Lieutenant-Colonel. Mentioned in despatches, 21 June 1916.
