Biography: Son of Robert Ritchie; born Ayr, 16 June 1876. M.B., 1898. Lieutenant, R.A.M.C., 1901. Mobilized Major, 4 August 1914; attached to No. 1, 47, Field Ambulance, 20 Casualty Clearing Station. Served-France, Belgium, August 1914-November 1918. Final rank, Acting Lieutenant-Colonel. Distinguished Service Order Two mentions in despatches, January 1916, January 1917.
