Biography: Son of John Ritchie; born Aberdeen 22 January 1891. M.A., 1912 ; B.Sc., 1913. Enlisted, Nagpur Mounted Rifles, 1913. Mobilized Lieutenant; attached 103rd, 117th, Mahratta Light Infantry. Served-India, 1916-18. Final rank, Captain.
