Biography: Son of Alexander Ritchie; born Beau Bassin, Mauritius, 6 September 1894. M.B., 1918. Officer Training Corps Surgeon-Probationer, Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve, November 1915; transferred to Royal Navy. Final rank, Surgeon-Lieutenant.
