Biography: Son of Adam Ritchie; born Aberdeen, 5 January 1890. M.A., 1912; B.Sc., 1914. Trooper, Punjab Light Horse, April 1915. Commissioned, 17th Cavalry Corps, July 1918. Served-India, 1915-19. Final rank, 2nd Lieutenant.
