Biography: Son of John Riddoch; born Rothiemay, 7 December 1862. M.A. (I Class, I Ment), 1884; Hutton Prize; Bain Medal. Commissioned, Royal Garrison Artillery (Volunteer), 1900; transferred. 7th Gordon Highlanders, 1908. Mobilized Captain, 4 August 1914. Served-Home, 1914-15; France, May 1915-December 1918. Final rank, Acting Major. Croix de Guerre, 1918.
