Biography: Son of Alexander Riddel; born Oyne, 20 August 1891. M.B., 1914, Lieutenant, Royal Army Medical Corps, 129th Field Ambulance, 25 September 1915; attached 16th Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Served-Home, 1915; France, December 1915-May 1919. Final rank, Major. Military Cross (immediate award). Mentioned in despatches, April 1918.
