Biography: Son of William Reith; born Durris, 7 June 1889. University Diploma Agriculture, 1911. Private, Scottish Horse Army Service Corps, 15 January 1915. Commissioned, 1st Highland Brigade Royal Field Artillery (Territorial), 25 August 1915. Served-Home, 3½ years; France, 9 months. Final rank, Lieutenant.
