Biography: Son of Alexander Rae; born Aberdeen, 30 January 1886. M.A., 1907; M.B. (Hons.), 1911; D.P.H., 1914; Shepherd Memorial Gold Medal. Lieutenant, Royal Army Medical Corps, June 1917. Served- Egypt, Palestine, 1917-19. Final rank, Captain. Military Cross, April 1918.
