Biography: Son of William Tweddell ; born Whickham, Co. Durham, 21 March 1897. Medicine, 1919-. Private, 21st Royal Fusiliers (4th Pub. School Battery), May 1915. Commissioned, 15th Durham Light Infantry, 5 August 1916. Served-Home, 1915, 1916-17, 1918-19; France, November 1915-March 1916, April 1917-August 1918. Twice wounded. Final rank, Lieutenant. Military Cross, October 1917. Bar to Military Cross, August 1918.
