Biography: Son of Alexander Tomory ; born Pera, Constantinople, 29 October 1863. M.B. (Hon. dist.), 1890; D.P.H. (with credit), 1892. Served (while on leave from South Africa) in military transport ships, Military Hospital, London, Anglo-French R.C. Hospital, Compiegne, 1914-15. Major, S.A.M.C., 1915. Served-German West and East Africa, 1915-18. Final rank, Lieutenant-Colonel. Distinguished Service Order, 1918. Mentioned in despatches, 1917.
