U Company, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 1908-13. Commissioned, 9th (Glasgow Highland) Battalion, Highland Light Infantry, 5 January 1915. Gas Officer, 19th, 62nd, Division, Curragh Area. Served-United Kingdom, 1914-17; Western Front, 1917-18; Army of Occupation, Germany, 1919. Final rank, Captain. Military Cross. (gazetted 1 Jan. 1919).
