I) Class. Trip., Part I, Camb., 1914; 1st cl. Class. Trip., Part II, 1915. Cambridge University O.T.C. Commissioned, 5th King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, 7 July 1915 ; transferred Intelligence Corps, Royal Air Force (Aeroplane Photograph Dept.). Served-Home, 1915 ; France, November 1915-February 1919. Final rank, Acting Captain.
