Biography: Son of James L. Thomson ; born Menmuir, 8 June 1880. M.A., 1902; B.D. (dist.), 1906; King William Scholar; Stuart (Hebrew-), Barty Memorial, Prizes. Commissioned, Royal Army Chaplains' Department (4th class), Territorial Force, 3 February 1917; attached to 4th Regiment Black Watch; 76th Casualty Clearing Station. Served-Home, 1917; Egyptian Expeditionary Force, July 1917-August 1918.
