Biography: Son of James A. Thomson; born Fraserburgh, 11 March 1899. M.A., 1920. A.U.O.T.C., 1916-17. Cadet, No. 22 O.C.B., 5 October 1917. Commissioned, 3rd Gloucestershire Regiment, 16 December 1917. Served - Home, 1917-19. Final rank, 2nd Lieutenant.
