Biography: Son of William Thom; born Aberdeen, 20 October 1890. M.A., 1912. Private, 2/4th Gordon Highlanders, 26 November 1914. Commissioned., Royal Field Artillery, 15 July 1915 ; attached to 2/1st Highland Brigade, A/190 Royal Field Artillery Brigade, ""H"" Anti-aircraft Battery. Served-Home, 1914-16; France, September 1916-January 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant.
