Biography: Son of Charles L. Thom.; born Kintore, 30 April 1887. M.A., 1909. Private, 5th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 7 January 1915. Commissioned 8 August 1915. Served-Home, 1915-1918; France, March. 1918-August 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant.
