Biography: Son of Alexander Taylor; born Lintmill, 1 May 1892. M.A. (I Ment.), 1913; Hutton Prize; Bain Medal. War work-Y.M.C.A., France, 1914-15. Private, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 23 March 1915. Commissioned, 8 October 1915. Served-Home, 1915-16; France, January 1916-December 1918. Final rank, Acting Captain. Mentioned in despatches, January 1917.
