Biography: Son of John S. Taylor; born Aberdeen, 1 March 1895. M.A., 1916. Trooper, Scottish Horse, 1911. Transferred to U Company, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 1913. Mobilized, August 1914. Commissioned, 3 March 1915; attached to 11th Gordon Highlanders. Served-Home, France, Germany, 1914-19. Final rank, Captain.
