Biography: Son of John Taylor; born Lhanbryde, 4 June 1886. M.A., 1907; B.Sc. (Spec. dist.), 1909. U Company, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 1908-09. Commissioned, 6th Seaforth Highlanders (T.F.), 1913. Mobilized, August 1914. Attached to 51st (Highland) Division Cyclist Company; XVII Corps Cyclist Battalion. Served-Home, 1914-15, 1918; France, May 1915-September 1918. Final rank, Captain. Mentioned in despatches, June 1916.
