Biography: Son of Alexander Taylor; born Torry, Aberdeen, 8 June 1898. B.Com., 1920. War work-Red Cross Orderly, Aberdeen, 1914-15. Trumpeter, Scottish Horse Yeomanry, 4 April 1915; Black Watch. Served-Home, 1915-17; France, April 1917-May 1918. Discharged owing to wounds. Final rank, Corporal.
