Biography: Son of John Tarrel; born Fearn, 1 January 1888. M.A., 1913. Private, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 9 May 1915. Commissioned, 22 August 1915; attached to 6th Black Watch. Served-France, 6 months; Home, 3 years. Final rank, Lieutenant.
