Ogilvie, Sir Francis Grant
Biography: Son of Alexander Ogilvie; born Monymusk, 8 August 1858. M.A. (Hons.), 1879. C.B., 1906. Served in various Volunteer Corps, 1878-1900. Commissioned, 1 July 1916; Assistant Controller, later Assistant Director, Trench Warfare Department, Chemical Warfare Department, War Office, 1915-18. Final rank, Major, graded as Assistant Director, War Office. Name brought to notice of Secretary of State for War, 1917. Kt., January 1920.
