Biography: Son of James Johnstone; born Fraserburgh, 16 March 1889. M.B., 1913. Lieutenant, R.A.M.C., 7 August 1916; attached to 38th General Hospital, Salonika; 9th Gloucester Regiment; 1st Hertford Regiment; 9th Cavalry Field Ambulance. Served-Salonika, 1916-17 ; France, 1917-19; Home, 1919. Final rank, Captain. M.C., June 1918. Mentioned in despatches, 1919.
