Biography: Son of Robert Hyslop; born Aberdeen, 21 November 1892. M.A. (I Class), 1914; Black Latin Prize. Private, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 1910-April 1914; commissioned, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 2 September 1914; attached to 16th Garrison Battalion K.O.Y.L.I., and No. 5 Anti-aircraft Company. Served-Home, September 1914-June 1916; France, July 1916-November 1919. Final rank, Captain. Mentioned in despatches, 1919.
